To recover your optical disc bulldoze's functionality, we suggest the post-obit troubleshooting methods:
Method 1: Hardware and Devices troubleshooter
one. Right click on Start and select Control Panel .

I should accept stated that I already looked for hidden devices and it does non show. auggy's suggestion no. 1 is the reg edit I mentioned that I tried and got the access denied message. auggy'due south no. two does not use to Windows 10. I do not understand the other suggestion of auggy's about the bios. Thank you for your help merely I need more suggestions please.

I am sorry but I did not find the Wiki commodity easy. I tried to follow information technology but kept getting error messages. I am not computer literate. I demand something Great grandpa can understand. Thanks for your patience with me.

I institute another site that listed the same control that auggy'south site had and copied that and this time information technology went through, but information technology did not solve the problem. I plant some other MS post that suggested using the run program to do a regedit and it showed the control on augy's site was for 32-scrap but I take 64-bit so I inverse to 64-bit and got that fault was found. But both times I got mistake letters when I started up my computer so I went dorsum and deleted the regedit, since neither worked. Now no error letters on start-up, but still no CD-DVD showing in device director.
I also did the organization operation bank check and information technology found no errors. Then I did non need to practise the Wiki article. Lamentable I missed the office about checking before doing the Wiki commodity. Please help me recover my CD bulldoze.

Try this, open Device Manager from Command Panel, nether IDE / SATA Controller is the driver 'Standard SATA AHCI Controller'. If it is, this might be the problem, endeavour to replace the Standard SATA AHCI Controller Driver with the proper one from the Asus Back up page on their Website.
This method has worked for some users, I hope this Helps!

But out of curiosity did the unit of measurement laissez passer the viable check (meaning it would boot
a Windows or other Bone disk)?
